9. How does 3D effect works?
3D Stereoscopic glasses are nothing new. In fact you had them when you were a kid and probably didn't even know it. Remember the ViewMaster?that showed all the cool Disney characters in full 3d? The ViewMaster?allowed you to look at two pictures of the same thing taken from a slightly different view point and tricked your brain into seeing one 3d image.
In order to see things in 3D, each eye must see a slightly different picture. This is done in the real world by your eyes being spaced apart so each eye has its own slightly different view. The brain then puts the two pictures together to form one 3D image that has depth to it.
In a movie theater, the reason why you wear 3-D glasses is to feed different images into your eyes. The screen actually displays two images, and the glasses cause one of the images to enter one eye and the other to enter the other eye.
10. How does Anaglyph 3D Glasses working?
The red/green or red/blue 3D Glasses system is now mainly used for television 3-D effects, and was used in many older 3-D movies. In this system, two images are displayed on the screen, one in red and the other in blue (or green). The filters on the glasses allow only one image to enter each eye, and your brain does the rest.
But this system has a big shortage, sinice the filters cut down one color and only let pass the other color,so your eyes do not see the original true color movies.
11. How does linear polarized 3D Glasses working?
Because the color 3D glasses has shortage,so people enhanced them, and created a Linear polarized glasses, which can give you true color watching:
Two synchronized projectors project two respective views onto the screen, each with a different polarization. The glasses allow only one of the images into each eye because they contain light-ray filters cut at opposing 45-degree.
Though linear polarized glasses got a big enhancing, and give people true color feeling. They contain two 45 degree opposing filters,so when people use them, they should sit in an upright position to watch movies. Or otherwise, they can not get the 3-D effect images.
So in this situations, people enhanced linear polarized again, and created circular polarized glasses. Which can give us true color images and do not have strict request on sitting position when we were watching movies.
12. What is an anaglyph?
Anaglyphic stereograms (anaglyphs) are stereo pairs of images in which each image is shown using a different color. The two images are overlapped and then viewed using red/green or red/blue glasses (depending on the colors used). This means that the color channel is used for the stereo separation and therefore the perception of anaglyphs is monochrome (black and white), although color anaglyphs can be made.
The word anaglyph comes from the Greek anagluphos, meaning "wrought in low relief"; this comes from the word anagluphein, which means "to carve in relief" (ana = up + gluphein = to carve).
